Matthew’s story is in many ways the story of all of us.
Each person’s journey through life will be different, and our visions of financial independence are as unique as our fingerprints. But, there are some things we all have in common – we all want the best for our families, our businesses or the legacies we will one day leave behind. Sorting out our priorities, for the present and the future, and how best to afford them is definitely a challenge – but it’s also possible.
Matthew’s financial independence adventure is motivated by his wife and newborn, inspired by his parents, and moved by his educational and career goals. Together, this young family is penny pinching, bargain hunting, working, and investing in an effort to get their starter home. Whether you have similar goals or not, chances are you can imagine the moments of excitement and fear, as well as the failures and successes someone like Matthew might experience along the way. Chances are you’ve felt all of these things, and more, in your own pursuits.
We hope Matthew reminds you about your own journey and inspires you to keep going when times are tough. It should remind you to feel gratitude for every good thing given or achieved. And, we hope he helps you think of your own independence – what it looks like, feels like and who you’ll share it with.
We’re more than happy to have a conversation with each and every one of you about your financial independence. Remember, we’re more than your average bank, for us you are more than customers, and what we do is about much more than money. If we asked you what financial independence means to you, would you tell us a number? We can safely assume, you’ve answered no, so why is money management usually discussed in just dollars and cents? Let’s talk about what matters most to you, so we can make a plan for today and tomorrow – believe us, there is tremendous power in having a plan!
