Carla McIntosh Gordon was appointed VM Group’s Chief Strategy Officer and a member of VM Group’s Executive Leadership Team in August 2019.

Carla oversees the VM Group’s Programme Management and Group Strategy portfolios. As Head of Strategy and the PMO, she has overall responsibility for the development of the Group’s business strategy, providing technical expertise in the execution of the strategy as well as measuring the business’s performance. While playing a critical leadership role in the delivery of the strategic objectives of the VM Group, a significant portion of time is spent honing and developing the leadership potential of the Team.

Prior to her appointment to the post of Group Chief Strategy Officer, Carla made significant contributions to the realisation of VM’s business objectives as Assistant Vice President of the Programme Management Office when she joined the VM Group in February 2018, with over 20 strategic projects being delivered under the PMO including the set up of the new Agile Labs.

She has over 18 years’ experience in Enterprise Project Management, Strategic Management, Business Analysis and Quality Assurance in the financial sector. Before joining VM, Carla developed an impressive record of success in key strategic and programme management roles at MCONEC Mobile Solutions and with the NCB Group.

Delivery of the first BOJ approved mobile payments solution in Jamaica using Agile methodology

Launch of Unit Trust product now reaping over $25 billion in AUM

Receipt of the PMI Doctor Bird Chapter Award for Project of the Year

Launch of an enterprise-wide Treasury Management system reaping significant benefits to the organisation

Carla holds a Master of Science in Computer-Based Management Information System, and a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics with honours from the University of the West Indies, Mona. She is a certified Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute, of which she is a Member. She is also a certified Balanced Scorecard Professional. She taught Information Technology Project Management under the Master’s programme at UTech and Project Management at MIND. She is a UWI Alumni online mentor; provided mentorship services at Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU), and has also provided voluntary services at the Jamaica Foundation for Lifelong Learning.
