Turn ‘Pay day’ into ‘Save day’

It’s time to make this month’s pay cheque count towards living your best life. We know you’re excited about that direct deposit that hit your bank account on pay day but if you aren’t careful, you could soon be back to being broke and counting down to next month’s pay day. Be sure to put some money aside for a rainy day or to achieve one of your big dreams like a home, car or vacation.

HERE ARE SOME HELPFUL TIPS TO GET YOU STARTED:

BUDGET

Before pay day rolls around, budget for all your needs like food, bills, housing, clothing and travelling. By doing this, you are managing what you spend, while seeing where you can eliminate unnecessary spending.

SAVE ON PAY DAY

On the day you get paid, transfer the portion from your salary that you would like to save to a savings account – even a small amount can build up over time. An easy way of doing this is setting up an automatic payment or standing order.

CHANGE YOUR SPENDING HABITS

One less unnecessary spend equals more money in your savings account. Making a few adjustments like taking lunch to work will add up to more money in your savings account.
